Who should I not give my ScanMyPost address to?

When you apply for credit, you should always use your home address, as without this the lender will be unable to find your credit report and you are likely to be declined credit.

Once the credit facility has been approved, you can then change your address to your ScanMyPost address so that any statements are sent to us for scanning. We recommend that if the facility is available, you may prefer to elect to receive electronic copies of statements direct from the lender, as this will help to keep down the costs of using ScanMyPost.

You must not provide your ScanMyPost address to the Passport Office, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre, to the Police when your home address is sought.

It is also inadvisable to give your ScanMyPost address to any professional organisation you join, or to any other organisation that regularly sends magazines, products, DVDs or other similar items to you via the post. Magazines are routinely shredded on receipt, and DVDs, such as LoveFilm, are returned to sender automatically.
