Can you bank cheques received for me at my ScanMyPost address?

Yes. You need to arrange with us to do this before cheques are sent to us, as otherwise each cheque will be automatically scanned and forwarded to you by post to your home address.

We will ask you for additional authentication and obtain a paying-in book from you to enable us to bank any cheques within 24 hours of receipt.

On receipt of cheques that are to be banked, we scan them first to notify you of receipt. We then bank the cheques by sending them together with the paying-in slip by post to your bank branch on your behalf. No receipt is obtained and we leave you to check that all cheques scanned are correctly credited to your account.

An additional charge is levied - £5 including VAT for each deposit made, irrespective of the amount of cheques made with each deposit. Each cheque scanned is counted as a page scan.

If we receive a particularly large cheque for you, whether we have agreed to bank them for you or not, please note that we are under a legal obligation to notify the authorities to help prevent money laundering in accordance with the Money Laundering Act 2007.
